Ascend returns to Plastimagen with innovative new materials for Latin America

Ascend Performance Materials will showcase how it is moving forward with customers with new e-mobility products and sustainable materials at Plastimagen this week. In its first exhibition at Plastimagen since expanding its compound production to Latin America, the company will showcase its engineering materials portfolio, including:

  • New categories of the award-winning  Vydyne  AVS system , which provides adjustable frequency damping for automakers seeking to reduce vehicle noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) at the source.
  • New  advances in Starflam  safety of passengers of electric vehicles. Starflam protection against flames.
  • A growing portfolio of  ReDefyne  certified circular polyamide compounds with up to 100% pre- and post-consumer recycled raw materials, specially formulated to help customers reduce the carbon footprint of their products without compromising performance. The ReDefyne portfolio can help achieve the circularity targets set out in the  European Commission’s proposed end-of-life vehicle regulation .

Ascend, which is the largest fully integrated producer of polyamide 66, expanded its global presence by purchasing a compounding facility in San Jose Iturbide, Mexico last year, increasing the production capacity of its engineered materials to high performance. A team of around 70 people manage the site, which produces specialist materials for the automotive, electrical and electronic equipment, consumer goods and industrial sectors.
