Alkegen appoints Gaetan Borgers as president of Battery Group

Alkegen, a high-performance specialty materials company providing breakthrough innovative solutions for the battery industry, announced the appointment of Gaetan Borgers as the new President of the Battery Group.

Borgers was born and raised in Belgium. He began his career in silicon chemistry at Dow Corning, where he played a critical role in developing the company’s solar energy strategies. The launch of the first series of innovative solar energy products took place under his leadership. Borgers’ expertise and commitment to sustainable energy solutions and clean technology saw him appointed Executive Vice President of Soitec’s Solar Division and President of Soitec US, where he led the growth of concentrated photovoltaic systems. Borgers recently worked as Chief Commercial Officer for Nexeon, a manufacturer of silicon-based anode materials.
