ITS Logistics Food & Beverage Hubs Ready for Changing Supply Chains

ITS Logistics, a third-party logistics provider that has been named one of the fastest-growing companies in North America, is assisting food and beverage companies in meeting the operational requirements of the current complex distribution environment through its Food & Beverage Hubs network. These hubs are designed to assist food and beverage companies in meeting the regulatory and omnichannel complexities through scalable food-grade infrastructure.

“Peak season in food and beverage does not create risk; it reveals the structural weaknesses already embedded in the network,” said Kasia Wenker, Vice President of Solutions Engineering at ITS Logistics. “Brands that perform consistently are those that design operating models for resilience, traceability, and controlled scale throughout the year-not just during demand spikes. Distribution infrastructure must be able to absorb volatility without compromising service, compliance, or cost discipline.”

The peak beverage season usually takes place from mid-May to mid-July, with most carriers beginning to operate at full capacity as early as March. The current peak beverage season takes place at a time when the food and beverage industry is facing high supply chain risk, as reported in the latest reporting from Verisk CargotNet. The food and beverage category represented the highest type of cargo theft, with a 47% increase in year-over-year incidents, of the estimated $725 million in cargo theft losses in 2025. Meanwhile, the challenges of sourcing uncertainty, transportation costs, and working capital are making it necessary for brands to operate with more stringent inventory management and service levels.

The ITS Logistics Food & Beverage Hubs network is designed to meet these market dynamics by leveraging food-grade warehouse infrastructure, best practices for operations, and a unified quality control framework through an integrated technology platform. The network enables two-day delivery coverage for most of the U.S. population, besides offering flexible execution capabilities for direct-to-consumer, B2B, retail replenishment, and marketplace fulfillment.

Proven experience supporting food and beverage shippers

Although the Food & Beverage Hubs were officially launched in 2025, ITS Logistics has over two decades of experience serving the food and beverage industry through fulfillment, transportation, and managed supply chain solutions.

Wellness Pet Company, a high-end pet food manufacturer, partnered with ITS to expand its distribution and fulfillment network after outgrowing its existing West Coast partner. By doubling its inventory base and working hand-in-hand with ITS on process optimization, the company was able to increase its outgoing shipments to keep up with consumer demand while still delivering its high level of service.

ITS Logistics has also supported food and beverage companies in managing the complexity of e-commerce fulfillment. Nature’s Bakery, a national snack food brand, partnered with ITS to develop and launch its e-commerce fulfillment solution, which allows for greater flexibility and visibility and reliable performance.

In addition, ITS Logistics delivers an integrated transportation network and managed transportation solutions purpose-built for food and beverage supply chains. Pacific Cheese, a premium natural cheese producer, launched a fully managed transportation partnership with ITS Logistics in early 2025. The company’s temperature-controlled supply chain faced limited carrier availability and insufficient market visibility. Through its partnership with ITS, Pacific Cheese achieved a 13% reduction in overall transportation spend.

“The service has been outstanding,” said Brandon Smith, Vice President of Operations at Pacific Cheese. “As we all know, changes of this magnitude can bring disruption, but in our case, it’s been minimal, and any issues have been handled swiftly, transparently, and with accountability. ITS has become an integral part of our team.”

“Growth in food and beverage distribution is operationally complex because volume increases often introduce compliance risk, service variability, and working-capital pressure,” Wenker continued. “Scalable infrastructure must preserve food-grade standards, inventory integrity, and service performance as throughput expands. True scalability is measured not by square footage, but by the ability to grow without degrading control.”
