DAT Freight & Analytics, the leading transportation data and analytics provider, has announced its agreement to acquire the Convoy Platform from Flexport, further enhancing its portfolio with advanced automation and digital freight-matching technology.
The acquisition marks a major step in DAT’s strategy to expand and modernize freight logistics. The Convoy Platform, built as a powerful digital tool for brokers, enables automation across the freight lifecycle and streamlines connections with vetted trucking companies. The platform will complement DAT One, DAT’s flagship load board, which supports nearly 700,000 daily load posts.
“The acquisition of Convoy demonstrates DAT’s ongoing commitment to enhancing network value for our customers,” Jeff Clementz, DAT President and CEO “Together, we will give customers a better, broader freight-matching network, the ability to manage more loads and capture incrementally more business, and ultimately more choice.”
“We invested in the Convoy Platform because we saw its potential. In just 18 months, we improved the core technology platform, reengaged the market, and significantly increased its value. Importantly, we demonstrated a strong product-market fit by decoupling the platform from a brokerage,” Ryan Petersen, Founder and CEO of Flexport
“We look forward to a lasting relationship as a DAT customer. This sale is a win for the entire freight industry, a win for DAT, and a win for Flexport.”

Flexport originally acquired the Convoy Platform and its intellectual property in October 2023. By April 2024, Flexport relaunched it as a standalone freight-matching solution for brokers, rapidly expanding its carrier base into the thousands. Designed as a neutral digital marketplace, the platform attracted small fleets and owner-operators seeking a streamlined, tech-forward way to connect with freight opportunities.
DAT plans to integrate the Convoy Platform into DAT One, combining the strength of automation with the reliability of its hands-on freight-matching services. This unified solution will give brokers greater flexibility in managing freight and provide carriers with an easier, faster way to access quality loads from trusted sources—backed by DAT’s industry-leading scale and data insights.
