Hitachi, Ltd. announced that the company is partnering with NVIDIA to accelerate social innovation and digital transformation through Hitachi’s operational technology (OT) solutions and the company’s leadership in key sectors such as energy, mobility and connected systems with NVIDIA’s expertise in generative AI.
Generative AI is having a huge impact on the business and consumer worlds and has ushered in a new wave of digital transformation, which is expected to revolutionize the way products are used and lead to unprecedented levels of efficiency in organizations. Through this collaboration, generative AI is penetrating the industrial world to capture and harness the vast amounts of data generated in the OT world – by various sensors, devices and industrial machines – to streamline performance, gain insights and enable organizations to automate actions that were previously not possible.
Hitachi will select an executive leadership team and establish an AI Center of Excellence (CoE) in collaboration with NVIDIA. In line with the strategic milestones, Hitachi will develop and commercialize industrial solutions that integrate Hitachi’s knowledge of OT with NVIDIA’s advanced knowledge of AI software and GPU technology. Hitachi is investing in expanding engineer training on NVIDIA software platforms, including CUDA™, NVIDIA AI Enterprise *1 , Omniverse ™ *2 and Modulus *3 , among other collaborative measures taken by the company. These efforts pave the way for new innovations that will directly benefit society.
