Diabetes Drug Drives Patient Demand for Fotona 4D Non Surgical Facelift Procedure

Fotona US, the leader in the design and manufacture of high technology laser systems for aesthetics and dentistry since 1964, has noted a significant demand for Fotona 4D Non Surgical Facelift procedures to rebuild collagen and correct sagging facial skin due to the popular off label use of a diabetes drug.

“Diabetes drugs like semaglutide injections are in high demand for rapid weight loss. Now more users are noticing an unwanted side effect: the ‘Ozempic face,’ which refers to the facial aging and sagging that some users have experienced,” states Board Certified Dermatologist Martha Viera from Coral Gables, Florida. “Even if you add back volume through fillers, the skin is not going to return right back to normal. We need to use the Fotona 4D procedure to restore skin’s elasticity and achieve lifting and tightening to reduce the sagging, as well as restore a patient’s facial volume.”

The Fotona 4D procedure is a series of synergistic, non-invasive laser treatments of both the exterior facial and interior oral cavity, enabling two complimentary laser wavelengths to treat 4 distinct “dimensions” of the skin to rejuvenate and tighten from the inside out. Dr. Viera adds, “It offers tightening and volumization without the need for fillers or toxins which only last between 6 and 10 months. Instead, Fotona 4D has the ability to promote collagen production with long lasting results, therefore giving the opportunity for patients to restore and build their own collagen in a more natural manner.”Depending on the severity of volume loss, patients can expect an initial series of 3 to 5 laser treatments over the course of a few months.

According to Dimas Garcia, President and CEO of Fotona US: “Our technological innovations have created new, minimally invasive laser treatment options that patients are more motivated to take advantage of due to limited or no downtime. We have successfully maintained this approach across many other specialties, and physicians around the world use Fotona lasers to address indications from ‘head to toe,’ whether that be chronic snoring, volume and laxity throughout body, persistent melasma, and even onychomycosis, otherwise known as toe nail fungus.”
