Marubeni Corporation Acquires Bubbies Ice Cream

Bubbies Ice Cream, the leading mochi ice cream brand in the natural channel and the fastest-growing in conventional grocery, has been officially acquired by Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s largest integrated trading and investment conglomerates. As part of the transaction, Bubbies will operate under Marubeni America Corporation, headquartered in New York City, while continuing its manufacturing and business operations from its facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

The acquisition marks a pivotal milestone in Bubbies’ growth journey, empowering the brand with access to Marubeni’s extensive global infrastructure, robust supply chain network, and longstanding trade relationships. With Marubeni’s strategic backing and proven experience in scaling high-quality food ventures, Bubbies is poised to accelerate its expansion across North America and international markets.

Founded in 1985 as a small scoop shop on the island of Oahu, Bubbies has evolved into a premium frozen novelties leader, offering an authentic assortment of mochi ice cream made with real, high-quality ingredients. In 2025, the company further diversified its product line by launching Mini Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches, maintaining its commitment to super-premium ice cream and flavor innovation. Today, Bubbies products are available across natural, grocery, club, and mass retail channels, as well as select international locations.
