Stem PowerTrack™ Fuels Norbut Solar’s Community Solar and EPC Growth

Stem, a global leader in AI-driven clean energy software and services, announced a strategic collaboration with Norbut Solar Farms (NSF), a top-tier community solar developer in New York’s ISO (NYISO) power market. NSF will standardize on Stem’s PowerTrack platform to streamline operations, scale project deployment, and optimize performance across its expanding portfolio of solar and storage projects.

NSF has already delivered over 525 MW of community solar and 30 MW of energy storage across New York State and is preparing to launch 17 additional projects over the next three years. As part of this growth trajectory, NSF will utilize 50 MW of PowerTrack™ software capacity over a five-year term. By standardizing on PowerTrack™, NSF gains powerful tools for end-to-end asset management, enabling faster project commissioning, improved operational visibility, and integrated reporting that enhances efficiency across its Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) workflows.

“As we continue to scale, the move towards standardizing on PowerTrack™ has helped us simplify our development approach and accelerate project deployment,” said Rick Allen, President, Norbut Solar Farms EPC. “Stem’s technology provides real-time insights, custom reporting, and automation that enable us to efficiently manage multiple projects while supporting our long-term EPC growth. Their ongoing energy expertise from project inception to ongoing operation has been invaluable.”

PowerTrack Enhances NSF’s EPC Strategy and Grid Integration

Designed to support rapid deployment and ensure compliance with complex regulatory requirements, PowerTrack™ allows NSF to efficiently monitor and manage solar and storage assets in real time. The platform’s capabilities include fault detection, trend analysis, and automated reporting tailored to entities such as the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), enabling seamless SREC and incentive compliance.

NSF’s unique project design—structuring sites into four co-located arrays under 5 MW AC—facilitates independent operation and grid integration efficiency, while PowerTrack™ ensures these modular projects are commissioned and controlled with precision. The platform also supports integration with third-party data agents, simplifying reporting and enhancing overall portfolio transparency.

“Norbut Solar Farms is leading the transformation of New York’s community solar and storage landscape through innovative EPC solutions,” said Matt Tappin, President of Software, Stem. “Our collaboration demonstrates how advanced software can amplify the impact of visionary developers like NSF. By streamlining their EPC execution and providing unprecedented portfolio visibility, we’re helping NSF deliver clean energy solutions more efficiently while advancing their commitment to community-focused sustainability. This work exemplifies Stem’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition through technology-enabled partnerships.”
