Greenberg Traurig Mexico City’s Erick Hernández Gallego Appointed Vice-President of ICC, Mexico Chapter Environment Commission

Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Erick Hernández Gallego, head of the firm’s Mexico City Environmental Practice and co-chair of its Energy & Natural Resources Practice in the Mexico City office, was appointed vice-president of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Mexico Chapter’s Environment Commission. Currently, Erick also co-chairs the ICC’s Global Circular Economy Working Group.

The objective of the commission is to develop recommendations and tools that seek to address the most pressing environmental issues at the national and international level, including issues focused on climate change, green and circular economy, sustainable development, and the prevention and control of pollution, with the aim of making a significant contribution to the sector. Additionally, the commission will review the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be met in 2023 and the results of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), as well as the Biodiversity COP.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Erick since we were students at UNAM Law School. Erick has over 20 years of experience in environmental and sustainability law. He advises Mexican and international entities on projects related to renewables, environmental impact and risk matters, financing of green projects, soil contamination, as well as emissions reductions and climate change. Over the last year, he has led client representations regarding Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), Circular Economy and air emission matters, and other issues relating to environmental law.
