Shift5, the observability platform for onboard operational technology (OT), and ForeFlight, a mobile flight planning application, announced a mission-critical integration to deliver real-time cyber, maintenance, and safety alerts to Department of Defense aircrews.
The solution, which will be showcased at SOF Week 2025, will enable ForeFlight users with the appropriate military licenses to receive immediate notifications about cyber anomalies or potential system failures-a capability not previously available in flight.
“Our integration with ForeFlight delivers critical information to pilots when it matters most by combining Shift5’s advanced monitoring capabilities with an application flight crews already use,” said Josh Lospinoso, CEO and co-founder of Shift5. “This seamless integration significantly reduces the time between detecting potential issues—whether cyber or maintenance concerns-and taking corrective action. By transforming data that was previously unavailable or limited to post-flight analysis into actionable, in-flight intelligence, we’re empowering aircrews to make informed decisions that increase operational efficiency and, most importantly, flight safety.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Shift5 on this powerful new integration to further empower flight crews with real-time monitoring and alerting,” said Henrik Hansen, CTO of ForeFlight. “Bringing together disparate sources of inflight data and delivering them to pilots via just one app showcases the transformative power of an integrated EFB like ForeFlight. It’s clear that Shift5 shares this vision for the future of digital cockpit connectivity, and working with them to develop this new capability has been an absolute joy.”
