Shield AI and AIDC Sign Teaming Agreement to Advance Taiwan’s Defense Capabilities

Shield AI, the U.S. defense technology company building state-of-the-art autonomy software and aircraft, announced it has entered into a formal Teaming Agreement with Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC). The agreement will advance Taiwan’s sovereign defense capabilities, strengthen its aerospace industrial base, and enhance collaborative technological innovation.

The Teaming Agreement defines concrete collaboration on sustainment, training, autonomy integration, and other technical initiatives to ensure Shield AI’s products can be deployed, supported, and scaled in Taiwan.

“Teaming up with Shield AI, one of America’s most cutting-edge defense technology companies, demonstrates AIDC’s ability to move quickly and decisively with world-class innovators in a rapidly evolving defense tech ecosystem. Shield AI‘s state-of-the-art mission autonomy and aircraft, such as their V-BAT, combined with AIDC’s decades of aerospace manufacturing experience, will strengthen Taiwan’s defense and deterrence capabilities and supercharge Taiwan’s local drone and aerospace industry,” said a spokesperson from AIDC.

“As the largest and most capable defense prime in Taiwan, our work with AIDC is really about accelerating Taiwan’s local drone and aerospace industry as they ramp up next generation deterrence capabilities now and for the next two decades. This is going to be a fantastic, long-term partnership,” said Brandon Tseng, Shield AI’s President, Co-founder, and a former Navy SEAL. “AIDC brings decades of experience, an established track record of success, and deep expertise in aerospace manufacturing. By bringing Shield AI’s state-of-the-art mission autonomy and aircraft, the Shield AI and AIDC team aim to deliver the comprehensive ecosystem of autonomous systems that will give Taiwan the ability to achieve the greatest victory, that which requires no war.”
