WeRide partners with Renault Reintroduce Autonomous Shuttles at Roland-Garros

WeRide, a global pioneer in autonomous driving technology, has once again teamed up with Renault Group, a premium partner of Roland-Garros, to deliver Level 4 autonomous shuttle services at the 2025 Grand Slam tournament on Paris’s iconic clay courts.

Following the success of last year’s deployment, the Robobus shuttle returns to serve attendees with a seamless and sustainable transport solution. The route spans 2.8 kilometers and completes the loop in 12 minutes, connecting key points including Avenue de la Porte d’Auteuil, Place de la Porte d’Auteuil, the P1 parking lot at Carrefour des Anciens Combattants, and the Roland Garros Village. The service will operate daily from May 25 through June 8, between 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

New this year is the introduction of a nighttime service, running from 10 p.m. to midnight, offering enhanced accessibility and convenience for late-night eventgoers. Designed to perform reliably under complex conditions, the Robobus navigates low-light urban settings with unpredictable traffic-including pedestrians and cyclists-with ease and safety.

“We are delighted to be back at Roland Garros with our long-time partner, Renault Group, to continue our shared mission of commercializing autonomous mobility in Europe. The return of our Robobus service for a second consecutive year not only reinforces confidence in our technology, but also proves its readiness for real-world use,” said Tony Han, founder and CEO of WeRide. “Europe represents a key market in our global strategy. With our autonomous products approved in five markets, including France, and commercial operations already underway, we are accelerating our efforts to bring safer, smarter, and greener mobility to more cities in the region.”

“These autonomous electric minibuses and shuttles embody our vision of a new, safer, more fluid, more efficient, and more sustainable public transport system, serving local communities and their residents. Since we began testing, we no longer wonder if society is ready for autonomous public transport; we see that it already is. From Roland-Garros to Barcelona, via Valencia, Renault and WeRide are demonstrating that autonomous mobility is no longer a promise, but a reality,” said Patrick Vergelas, head of the Renault Group autonomous mobility project.
