OpenAI and Applied Intuition announces Collaboration on Intelligent Vehicles

Applied Intuition, a global leader in vehicle intelligence solutions, announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to usher in a new era of AI-powered in-vehicle experiences. This partnership aims to revolutionize the automotive landscape by integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence into vehicles, transforming them into intelligent, connected companions for drivers around the world.

With nearly 100 million new vehicles produced globally each year—and modern vehicles now operating with more than 150 million lines of code—cars are evolving into sophisticated, software-driven platforms, akin to smartphones on wheels. Through this collaboration, Applied Intuition and OpenAI will work together to embed large language model (LLM)-powered voice assistants and intelligent agents directly into vehicles, delivering deeply personalized, intuitive, and productive driving experiences.

A central focus of the initiative is to establish a seamless link between the intelligence embedded in mobile devices and that within personal vehicles. By doing so, the companies aim to build a more cohesive and responsive ecosystem for consumers on the move.

In addition to product innovation, Applied Intuition will also integrate ChatGPT into its internal operations across multiple departments. This move is designed to enhance team productivity, streamline workflows, and drive more strategic decision-making as the company scales its mission.

“We’re pleased to support Applied Intuition’s efforts to bring powerful AI to the in-vehicle experience,” said James Dyett, head of enterprise and strategic sales at OpenAI. “With ChatGPT, Applied Intuition will also have access to powerful AI that supports their teams as they pursue a new type of experience in the automotive sector.”

“We see mobile devices and personal vehicles as part of a broader, connected ecosystem, and we’re excited to take the first step in creating that bridge,” said Qasar Younis, co-founder and CEO of Applied Intuition. “OpenAI has done a great job bringing world-class AI to consumers internationally, so naturally we see a huge opportunity to expand the intelligence we provide to vehicles.”
