LG Energy Solution has announced its entry into SDVerse, which is a first for a battery-centric company. At the same time, this is a move from battery manufacturing to top-notch software solutions and mobility services. SDVerse is a B2B marketplace for automotive software, where companies can find, evaluate, and deploy software solutions created for the software-defined vehicle (SDV) ecosystem, developed jointly by General Motors, Magna, and Wipro in 2024.
With this partnership, LG Energy Solution is plonking its battery software knowledge in the SDV domain, releasing five main solutions that help improve diagnostics, safety, and the overall lifespan of the battery. These entail: Battery Platform SW for detailed battery analysis, Safety Diagnostic Calibration Tool for secure in-house simulators, Onboard FRISM for a machine-learning battery health estimator, Onboard BLiS for forecasting battery degradation, and Onboard DASH for adjusting battery performance to driving and charging patterns in real time.
“We are proud to welcome LG Energy Solution and its advanced battery management software, diagnostics, and SDV-ready battery architecture to SDVerse,” said Prashant Gulati, CEO of SDVerse. “By combining deep battery expertise with software-driven intelligence, LG Energy Solution is helping accelerate the development of next-generation electric vehicles.”
