FPT and ATEC Announced Partnership to Drive Automotive Innovation in Japan

Global IT services provider FPT has entered a strategic partnership with ATEC, a renowned Japanese automotive software company with over 36 years of industry experience. The two firms have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop innovative automotive software solutions aimed at driving safer, smarter, and more connected mobility in Japan and beyond.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward transforming the automotive software landscape by addressing two pressing industry challenges: the growing demand for advanced vehicle software and a persistent shortage of senior-level talent in embedded systems.

By leveraging FPT’s global delivery capabilities and ATEC’s deep-rooted domain expertise, the partnership will offer robust, scalable, and high-quality software solutions to leading Japanese automakers. Key areas of focus will include AUTOSAR development and Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) services—core pillars of next-generation automotive architectures.

As part of this alliance, FPT and ATEC will establish a dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with plans for expansion to meet future demand and support long-term innovation goals.

This is ATEC’s first international collaboration, marking a pivotal move to expand development capacity and mitigate local resource shortages. For FPT, the partnership strengthens its foothold in Japan’s highly competitive automotive market and grants access to ATEC’s valuable customer ecosystem.

“Automotive stands as a critical industry in Japan, with increasing AI-driven automotive systems. By combining FPT’s global expertise in automotive technology and our AI-enabled solutions with ATEC’s deep domain knowledge, we are confident that this partnership can open up exciting opportunities for both sides in Japan’s dynamic automotive sector,” Do Van Khac, FPT Software SEVP and FPT Japan CEO, FPT Corporation.
