Airbiquity partners with BlackBerry to protect OTA updates with enhanced security measures

The integration of OTAmatic and Code Signing Server products offers automotive manufacturers a turnkey solution to implement the Uptane security framework

Airbiquity, a global leader in connected vehicle services, announced that it has joined forces with BlackBerry, a trusted provider of secure connectivity solutions, to enable device manufacturers to automobiles offer over-the-air (OTA) updates to vehicles and meet the highest security standard in the industry. By integrating Airbiquity’s OTAmatic software management platform   and BlackBerry’s Certicom code signing key management server, the two companies will enable OEMs to seamlessly adopt the Uptane security framework and address critical OTA security challenges such as spoofing, unauthorized access, tampering, repudiation, man-in-the-middle, privilege escalation, and distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks to as vehicles are increasingly defined by software.
