TekniPlex Names Brian Kesseler as CEO to Drive Growth and Operational Excellence

TekniPlex has appointed Brian Kesseler as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 13, 2026. He succeeds Brenda Chamulak, who has stepped down, as the global materials science company looks to accelerate growth across its healthcare and consumer products businesses.

Kesseler brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across global industrial and manufacturing companies. Most recently, he served as CEO of Tenneco, a manufacturer of automotive and industrial components, where he also held the role of Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Tenneco, he spent more than two decades at Johnson Controls, eventually becoming President of its Power Solutions business and serving on the company’s executive operating team. He began his career at Ford Motor Company.

In his new role, Kesseler will focus on operational excellence, customer relationships, and business growth. He also aims to help TekniPlex expand faster than the markets it serves while maintaining consistent delivery for customers and employees.

The appointment comes as TekniPlex continues to strengthen its position in materials science and manufacturing. The company supplies components and packaging used in pharmaceutical packaging, medical devices, drug delivery, and consumer goods. Its global operations span 58 manufacturing sites across 12 countries, with approximately 9,000 employees.

Rob Rutledge, Managing Partner at Genstar Capital, TekniPlex’s owner, highlighted Kesseler’s experience scaling global manufacturing businesses and driving growth and innovation as important strengths for the company’s next phase.

The leadership transition underscores the importance of experienced operational leadership as manufacturers respond to evolving customer requirements, pursue growth opportunities, and seek greater efficiency across global operations. Kesseler’s experience across industrial sectors is expected to support TekniPlex as it advances its strategy across healthcare and consumer markets.
