Teledyne e2v Launches Nexora CMOS Image Sensors for High-Speed Machine Vision

Teledyne e2v, a Teledyne Technologies company, has introduced Nexora™, a new family of CMOS image sensors designed to deliver high sensitivity, high-speed imaging and low power consumption for demanding machine vision applications. The resolution ranges of Nexora include 12 MP & 16 MP in both color and monochrome versions. This product range is meant for high resolution machine vision, traffic intelligence and outdoor surveillance systems. The sensors use Teledyne e2v’s proprietary backside-illuminated (BSI) pixel technology, which improves light collection and delivers quantum efficiency of up to 73% at 550 nm and 15% at 940 nm, supporting challenging lighting and near-infrared applications.

A 3D-stacked sensor architecture integrates multiple functions into a compact multilayer structure, providing camera manufacturers with greater design flexibility for smaller, higher-performance imaging systems. Nexora also incorporates an LVDS interface compatible with various FPGAs and image signal processors and comes in a 23 by 21.5 mm package compatible with 29 by 29 mm² cameras and standard C-mount optics. “With Nexora, we focused on giving camera manufacturers a new platform that balances image quality, speed and integration simplicity. The result is a sensor family that can support a wide range of current and emerging machine vision applications,” said Rafael Romay, President of Teledyne Vision Solutions.
