Cox Automotive and Nova Credit Partner to Advance Cash Flow Intelligence via Dealertrack

Cox Automotive has executed a strategic partnership with credit infrastructure and analytics firm Nova Credit to embed cash flow intelligence directly into auto lending workflows. The collaboration debuts with the native integration of Nova Credit’s Income Navigator platform into Dealertrack, the auto sector’s widely used credit application and digital contracting network.

The integration enables auto lenders and dealerships to return personalized financing offers and automate income verification directly at the point of sale, streamlining origination cycles and expanding access to credit.

Navigating a Highly Competitive Auto Market

The U.S. automotive retail environment faces increasing market pressures, with full-year 2026 new-vehicle sales tracking near 15.7 million units-a contraction from first-half 2025 levels (Cox Automotive Mid-Year Review, June 2026). As a result, automotive lenders and dealership networks face heightened competition to capture qualified buyer demand.

To address these market dynamics, Cox Automotive selected Nova Credit as its preferred partner for embedded cash flow intelligence. Cash flow intelligence transforms consumer bank transaction data into actionable, continuous financial insights, applying these risk metrics across the entire auto credit lifecycle.

Income Navigator™ uses multiple data sources from banks and payroll companies, and verified documents to automate the income verification process, which helps meet the financing requirements within Dealertrack. The solution helps in eliminating manual processing of pay stubs and minimizes underwriting reviews.

Key Operational Advantages for Auto Lenders and Dealers

Accelerated Deal Funding: Automated income verification resolves financing stipulations at the point of sale, keeping deal workflows moving forward rather than stalling during document collection.

Point-of-Sale Fraud Mitigation: Tamper-evident, direct-from-source bank and payroll data streams replace manually submitted or easily modified PDF pay stubs.

Automated Underwriting Workflows: Underwriting teams no longer need to manually parse pay stubs to calculate net-to-gross income; Nova Credit’s engine automates the calculation and returns a single, decision-ready output.

“Bringing Nova Credit’s Cash Flow Intelligence into Dealertrack gives lenders and dealers a near-time, automated way to verify income and reduce fraud inside the workflows they already use,” said Andy Mayers, Lender Solutions Strategist at Cox Automotive. “This partnership offering is part of our broader strategy to drive efficiency and reduce risk for dealers and lenders. We see this Nova Credit integration as an important piece of the puzzle of moving to a fully automated origination process.”

“Buying a car is one of the most important credit decisions in a consumer’s life, and getting that right quickly requires a complete picture of their financial health,” said Chris Hansen, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Nova Credit. “With Cash Flow Intelligence embedded in Dealertrack, we’re helping lenders and dealers verify income in near real time and get to funding faster.”

“Our edge has always been better data, better technology, and more flexible risk models,” said Chris Urban, Executive Vice President of Risk and Underwriting at Westlake Financial. “We grow by approving good borrowers that others miss and understanding the true risk level across all aspects of an application. Income Navigator gives us another tool to help us verify the ability to pay and streamline our verification and funding process without slowing down the dealer or compromising our standards.”

Industry Deployment and Future Product Roadmap

Income Navigator™ is currently available for adoption across the Dealertrack network, with Westlake Financial operating as an early adopter. Operating as a Consumer Reporting Agency with nearly a decade of FCRA-compliance expertise, Nova Credit brings institutional policies, procedures, and adverse action support to every deployment, currently processing millions of annual applications across automotive and property management sectors.

Income Navigator™ represents the first commercial application delivered through the Cox Automotive and Nova Credit alliance. Looking ahead, both organizations are exploring ways to expand cash flow intelligence further across the auto lending lifecycle.

Future initiatives include a planned integration with Nova Credit’s cash flow underwriting platform, Cash Atlas®. Designed to enhance credit decisioning, Cash Atlas® evaluates bank transaction data to deliver FCRA-compliant metrics-such as residual income, cash volatility, and account stability. This capability equips lenders to assess a buyer’s true capacity to pay, enabling responsible approvals for near-prime, subprime, and thin-file applicants without altering risk profiles.
