Aurora Innovation has signed a new customer agreement with Value Truck to deploy its Aurora Driver autonomous trucking technology, marking another step in the commercialization of driverless freight operations. The partnership coincides with the introduction of Aurora’s second-generation driverless trucks, which are designed to meet increasing demand for autonomous freight transportation. The Value Truck, which is a full-service and cross-border carrier offering logistics for heavy machinery, retail cargo, and perishable cargo, would first run the Aurora Driver service on the routes between Dallas-Laredo and Fort Worth-Phoenix. The partnership is very important especially in major freight corridors like Laredo, Texas, where the rising number of nearshoring has increased the cross-border logistics demands.

Aurora expects its second-generation autonomous trucks to help carriers improve operational efficiency and address capacity shortages on critical logistics routes. “Freight volume on routes like Dallas-Laredo is growing faster than available capacity, and that gap is exactly what the Aurora Driver is built to close,” said Zac Andreoni, Vice President of Business Development at Aurora. “Value Truck is exactly the kind of customer we built our second-generation trucks for – a carrier that is growing and needs flexible, round-the-clock coverage on high-growth corridors.” “We’re proud to work alongside Aurora to move autonomous trucking from possibility to everyday freight operations,” said Joe Skoog, Chief Executive Officer of Value Truck. “The Aurora Driver will add flexible capacity on key long-haul corridors while allowing our drivers to focus where their experience matters most.”
