Microchip Technology and Sunny Smartlead have announced a strategic collaboration to advance the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link (ASA-ML) ecosystem, aiming to accelerate the development of standardized, secure, and cost-efficient ADAS camera solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). As part of the partnership, Sunny Smartlead is launching ADAS camera modules powered by Microchip’s VS700 family of ASA-ML devices, combining serializer technology with camera module expertise to simplify integration for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. ASA-ML offers an interoperable alternative to proprietary connectivity solutions, featuring built-in security through ASAsec for authentication and encryption, along with Precision Time Base (PTB) for accurate sensor synchronization-critical for advanced sensor fusion applications. The collaboration reflects growing industry momentum behind ASA-ML as a scalable, multi-vendor standard.
