Trane Technologies and Garrett Motion are joining forces. They want to speed up the creation of oil-free centrifugal compressors for commercial HVAC use. Trane Technologies and Garrett Motion will form a partnership. They will use Trane’s system-level knowledge and Garrett’s high-speed compressor technology. This will provide greater efficiency and reduce environmental impact. This partnership will create advanced compressor solutions for Trane Technologies. These include rooftop units, modular chillers, and large-capacity chillers. The focus will also be on refrigerants that have ultra-low global warming potential. New cooling applications will be included too. The field testing and production of the jointly developed technology are set to begin in 2026.
