Verra Mobility and Stellantis Partner on AutoKinex™ Automated Tolling

Verra Mobility Corporation, a leading provider of smart mobility technology solutions, announced the launch of AutoKinex™, an OEM-ready in-vehicle commerce platform designed to integrate payment technology directly into the driving experience. The platform enables seamless payment for essential mobility services including tolling, road usage charging, parking, fueling and EV charging – all from inside the vehicle.

As part of the launch, Verra Mobility has partnered with Stellantis to bring AutoKinex to drivers of 2021 model year and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® and Ram vehicles in the U.S. Drivers can verify whether their vehicle manufacturer has enabled AutoKinex by visiting autokinex.com. Owners of other automotive brands can also enroll for automated toll payments, even without in-vehicle display notifications.

Powered by more than 20 years of Verra Mobility’s expertise in tolling and connected mobility, AutoKinex removes the need for transponders, mobile apps or additional hardware by enabling fast, secure in-vehicle transactions. Real-time charges – when enabled by the manufacturer – are displayed directly on the infotainment screen, creating a transparent and frictionless commerce experience behind the wheel.

With AutoKinex, drivers of compatible vehicles can pass through most toll plazas nationwide without stopping or visiting individual toll authority websites to register or pay. For drivers who frequently use gated tolling locations requiring a physical transponder, Verra Mobility will provide a transponder at no cost.

The AutoKinex platform determines the vehicle’s location relative to the tolling site, identifies the correct rates from the tolling agency and automatically pays the toll on behalf of the driver. Confirmation of the toll charge appears on the in-dash display when available.

“With AutoKinex, we’re improving the driving experience and simplifying payments to enable drivers to pay for everyday services, such as tolls, directly from their vehicle,” said Stacey Moser, Executive Vice President of Verra Mobility‘s Commercial Services business. “AutoKinex also provides automakers with a scalable revenue channel by embedding today’s essential services and payments in the vehicle, paving the way for future connected mobility experiences. We are proud to partner with Stellantis as the first automaker to bring this groundbreaking connected vehicle service to market.”
