Sony Unveils an Automotive CMOS Image Sensor with Built-in MIPI A-PHY Interface

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (Sony) has announced the IMX828. This is the first CMOS image sensor for cars with a built-in MIPI A-PHY interface. This design removes the need for external serializer chips. As a result, camera systems can be smaller, use less power, and have simpler thermal designs. The 8-megapixel sensor provides top HDR performance in the industry. This boosts object recognition in bright light. It’s especially helpful for red LEDs, which are crucial for vehicle safety systems.
