Lyft, a global mobility platform, and Waymo, the world’s leading autonomous driving technology company, announced a strategic partnership to launch Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Nashville in 2026.
Under the agreement, Lyft will deploy its proprietary integrated fleet management services through its subsidiary Flexdrive, overseeing end-to-end fleet operations. This includes vehicle maintenance, infrastructure support, and depot management for Waymo’s Nashville fleet. Initially, riders will be able to hail Waymo’s autonomous vehicles through the Waymo app, with plans to expand availability to Lyft’s app later in 2026 for matched ride requests.
“This partnership brings together best-in-class autonomous vehicles with best-in-class customer experience,” said Lyft CEO David Risher. “Waymo has proven that its autonomous technology works at scale. When combined with Lyft‘s customer-obsession and world-class fleet management capabilities, it’s two great tastes that go great together.”

“We’re delighted to partner with Lyft and launch in Nashville next year, as we continue to scale our Waymo ride-hailing service to more people in more places,” said Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana. “Lyft’s extensive fleet management capabilities through Flexdrive make them an ideal partner for expanding to Nashville. We can’t wait to introduce Music City’s residents and visitors to the convenient, consistent, safe, and magical Waymo experience.”
As part of the collaboration, the companies will deploy a dynamic marketplace integration, enabling Waymo vehicles to serve ride requests across both the Lyft and Waymo networks. This model maximizes fleet utilization, expands rider access to autonomous vehicles, and ensures seamless integration alongside Lyft’s driver community. Together, Lyft and Waymo aim to accelerate the adoption of safe, reliable, and human-centered hybrid mobility solutions in Nashville and beyond.
