Starlab Space LLC has announced a strategic partnership with Journey, a leading multidimensional experience agency, to reimagine the interior design and experiential environment of its next-generation commercial space station. This collaboration brings Journey alongside established partners Hilton and Airbus in shaping a modern orbital habitat that elevates the way astronauts live and work in space.
Renowned for its immersive, human-centered design on global landmarks such as the Sphere in Las Vegas, the Empire State Building observatory, and the Sun Princess Dome for Princess Cruises, Journey will play a key role in designing the Starlab experience. Working closely with Hilton, one of Starlab’s original strategic partners, Journey will lead efforts in developing the station’s hospitality and crew environment-blending aesthetics, technology, and purpose.
“With Starlab, we want to create an intuitive and comfortable environment for astronauts that allows them to fully focus on their mission,” said Tim Kopra, Starlab CEO. “Journey understands how to merge design and technology in a very unique context. Their work will help make Starlab not just a successful operational platform in low-Earth orbit but also an exceptional place to work and live.”

This partnership is centered around creating a more livable, human-oriented experience in space. Journey will integrate narrative design, spatial planning, and digital infrastructure to ensure that Starlab not only functions as a state-of-the-art research facility but also feels like a welcoming and inspiring environment for its crew.
“Our mission is to create multidimensional experiences for the world’s most compelling and ambitious projects,” said Lionel Ohayon, Journey‘s Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder. “We’re applying our decades of design expertise to humanity’s next frontier: space. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Starlab to bring this world-shifting vision to life.”
As Starlab continues to redefine the future of commercial space exploration, this collaboration highlights the increasing importance of human-centered design in space architecture-paving the way for a new era of orbital living that prioritizes comfort, connection, and creativity.
