Packline Materials Handling Announce The Production Of Their New Compact Single Arm Clamping Vertical Spindle Attachment For Handling Telescoping Rolls

New to Packline Materials Handling and Ultrasource LLC, the compact single arm clamping vertical spindle attachment was designed in response to a customer enquiry in the food processing industry to handle small rolls of film or foil that can telescope whilst being handled. Constructed from stainless steel, this roll handling solution is suitable for clean room high care environments such as those found in the food, drinks, pharmaceutical and medical industries.

The single arm clamping vertical spindle was designed in response to an enquiry in the meat processing industry to handle small rolls of film that tend to telescope during handling from the pallet to the processing line.

The lifting machine and vertical spindle attachment feature a compact design suitable for smaller rolls. In addition, this bespoke lifter is suitable for narrow aisles and confined, restricted spaces with limited access and maneuverability.

The attachment is suitable for smaller rolls with a diameter of 15” / 381mm and lift capacity of 66lbs / 30kg, where it is not necessary to clamp both sides of the roll.

The lifting attachment features geared clamping and rotation.

This vertical spindle attachment incorporates a single clamping arm with nitrile rubber pads to ensure that the roll is held securely in position.

In addition to the clamping mechanism, the rolls are securely gripped by the core. This mechanism has a torque limiter fitted so that the clamping fingers do not over or under tighten in the core. This enables the operator to lift the rolls with complete confidence and safety.

This model has a gearbox with a manual handwheel for the rotation to and from the vertical to horizontal orientations. A further handwheel provides the roll gripping and release action of the core. A third handwheel provides the clamping action of the single arm.

The attachment has been designed to provide strength, durability as well as improved wear resistance and enhanced ease of use which provides a simple and safe action.
